The FLS15 hydraulic flange spreader is a new product from SPX Bolting Systems. The device is ideal for repairing pipes and flanges. In addition, it can also be used to replace bends, elbows, flange and metal seals on couplings, as well as for maintenance of heavy equipment and many other tasks. The hydraulic spreader can develop a force of up to 15 metric tons, is light in weight and is easy to use due to its ergonomic design. This hydraulic spreader works on the basis of a wedge integrated in the device.
The spreader is ideal for separating flanges and thus creates the space required for changing seals and / or for cleaning or repairing the intermediate spaces between the flanges. The spreader is single-acting and should be used with a pressure-maintaining hydraulic pump. The max. Operating pressure is 10,000 psi (700 bar). It is recommended to use the devices in pairs. This gives you a total force of 30 (2 x 15) metric tons (66,000 lb).
